The first time you try to put a harness on a pug can be difficult, especially if the pug is on the chubby side or if she's distracted and uncooperative, but these tips will help you dress your pug with a minimum of trouble. Share

Find a harness that is the right size for your pug.
Make sure that your pug's overprotective big sister is either disinterested or occupied.
Get behind your pug and place your legs around his stomach to hold him/her still. Pull the harness over your pug's head.
When you have the harness over your pug's head you need to slide the pug's front legs through the openings in the harness. Be gentle to avoid injuring pug's legs during this process.
Once you accomplish this you need to make sure that the harness is on straight and clip the harness together under the pug's belly. Pull up on the harness to make sure it doesn't break away.
